A guide for new tumblr users:

1) This place is not a place of honor… no highly esteemed deed is commemorated here… nothing valued is here.

2) What is here was dangerous and repulsive to us. This message is a warning about danger.

3) The danger is in a particular location… it increases towards a center… the center of danger is here… of a particular size and shape, and below us.

4) The danger is still present, in your time, as it was in ours.

5) The danger is to the body, and it can kill.

6) The form of the danger is an emanation of energy.

7) The danger is unleashed only if you substantially disturb this place physically. This place is best shunned and left uninhabited.

I’m still sick (it’s been nearly a month!), but I’ve checked in on tumblr a tiny bit. Glad we now have Eurovision, along with gay pirates, and daily Drac. I’m so glad you’re having fun. Anything else, I seem to just think of shit things to say, not really contributing to the conversation. Hence, I am silent on those matters.

If my shit comments turn into something funny, I might change my mind.

when you hear a song for the first time as a cover and then hear the original and it’s like “damn the original is so much better I can’t listen to this cover again”

sometimes it goes the other way when someone just makes that song their own

Best of both worlds: The original makes you understand why people wanted to cover it, and the cover makes you glad they did cover it in their own way

“I will always love you” is def both

Gregory Alan Isakov with the Colorado Symphony
That Sea, the Gambler

This seems like a really good song with a rich sound, but it might also be that I have my volume up high? Idk, it sounds nice, and I’d like to revisit this later.

My throat is so sore now, I’m typing my words into google translate and playing the audio. Text-to-speech, in a lazy way. Very grateful for my fast typing in this case. It kind of sounds like those “pet talk buttons”, since I type phrases more than full sentences.

Dad’s calling to reschedule my counseling for next week, as a phone session. He also talked to my library friend and told her that I’ll be absent for nearly the rest of the month. Apparently, she’s covering for another person who is sick, so she can’t open the library anyway.

Dad also picked up a strawberry shortcake treat for me, along with 2 more bottles of cough syrup. I had frozen bananas earlier, to help soothe my throat. I’m just finishing up my 3rd week of this cold - corvid and a separate cold, since I tested negative.

I’m in better spirits, at least, as I get a few hours of sleep here and there.
